Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam
The Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam relic complex is located at 58 Quoc Tu Giam Street, Van Mieu Ward, Dong Da District, Hanoi.
On May 12, 2012, the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam was recognized by the Prime Minister as a Special National Relic under Decision No. 548/QD-TTG.
In 2012, the Khue Van Cac pavilion was chosen as a symbol of Hanoi Capital by the Vietnam National Tourism Administration. The 82 stelae of doctoral laureates at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam were recognized by UNESCO as Documentary Heritage and inscribed in the Memory of the World Register.
Having operated for more than 700 years and trained thousands of talents for the country, the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam is today a destination for domestic and international visitors, a place to honor outstanding students, and the venue for an annual poetry festival on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, as well as many cultural and academic exchange events. It is also here that, every Lunar New Year and before each exam season, students come to ask calligraphers for lucky words and pray for success in their studies and exams.
